Bed & Occupancy Management

Optimizing hospital flow through real-time tracking of wards, rooms, and bed availability.

Hospital Hierarchy

Curenium organizes physical space into a logical hierarchy to simplify navigation and reporting.

  1. Departments: High-level clinical areas (e.g., Cardiology, ICU).
  2. Wards: Specific units within a department (e.g., Ward A, Pediatric Ward).
  3. Rooms: Shared or private spaces within a ward.
  4. Beds: Individual patient stations designated by unique numbers.

Bed Types

The system supports various bed configurations to ensure patients are placed in appropriate care settings:

  • Standard: Routine inpatient care.
  • ICU: Specialized beds with intensive monitoring capabilities.
  • Private / Semi-Private: Differentiated by facility level and privacy.

Occupancy Tracking

Manage the clinical "pulse" of each unit through real-time status updates.

Assignment Workflow

Assigning a patient to a bed automatically updates their Clinical Location across the entire EHR system.

  • Admission: Single-click assignment from the Bed Detail page.
  • Transfer: Move a patient between beds or wards while maintaining clinical continuity.
  • Discharge: Automatically flags the bed for "Cleaning" status upon patient departure.
Matron Controls

Only Admins and Nurse Matrons have the authority to create new beds or change bed types in the hospital management settings.
